The CMHL team were very excited to attend The Collab 2023. It was the 24th year of the Centre for Mental Health Nursing’s Victorian Collaborative Mental Health Nursing Conference, jointly hosted with ANMF, HACSU, and the ACMHN.

Day 1 was amazing! It was great to see so many nurses from across Victoria's mental health system.

We had three CMHL presentations on day 1:

  • Our LLEWs Project Team shared their experiences of leaning in, listening, and learning from different perspectives. For more information about the projects click link here.
  • Our EN Educators presented their Finding Your Voice training, a training package they are delivering to ENs across all AMHS. For more information about this training and the other work we do to support ENs click link here.
  • Emma Murrell, our EN Educator, also presented with CentreMHN and a pre-qual (now new grad) about the Victorian Pre-Qualification Employment Program which has been expanded to include more services this year. For more information about this program click link here.

Day 2 was also a great success!

CMHL had four presentations on day 2:

  • Oliver McDougal-Fisher, our EN Educator, presented the wonderful mental health EN Video Series. You can find these as Topic 5 in our link CMHL Webinars.
  • Shaina Serelson presented her work on the Child Information Sharing Scheme project, discussing what we achieved last year and what we plan on doing this year. More information is available link here.
  • Beth Dunlop, Thomas Wilson (St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne), and Elly Piper from Austin Health were the winners of the People's Choice Award for their presentation on the Trauma Informed Leadership Program we are piloting with Foundation House Victoria (VFST Inc.). Congratulations on a fantastic presentation on an important piece of work! More information about the program is link here.
  • Our Learning and Practice Development team, Jo Stubbs and Jeffrey Weitzel shared how CMHL is connecting and listening to the sector to understand and respond to workforce development needs.

Our EN Educators also facilitated a session for ENs to connect, and CMHL facilitated a session for nursing students.

Congratulations to everyone who presented over the past two days! There is so much exciting and innovative work happening across the sector!
