CMHL was proud to support the Tandem and CLEW showcase initiative titled A New Way Forward: A showcase of relational practice with families and supporters. CMHL alongside the many members of the organising committee supported this Conference, which provided the Mental Health and wellbeing sector an opportunity to come together and learn first-hand how working with families, carers, and supporters is possible in the current system and with the current workforce.
The presentations on the day showcased existing best practice examples, already in use, that Mental health and wellbeing services could implement to support the transformation of the sector to be more inclusive and family-centred.
CMHL both facilitated (thanks Shaina) and had a team member (great work, Kelle) sit on the panel discussion “It takes a Village: how sharing information supports families, children, and young people”, which kept the audience glued to their seats as the panel discussed the Child Information Sharing Scheme and its importance as a safety practice all clinicians need to be aware of.
Presentations on the day included:
Bouverie Centre: Panel of three family, carers and supporters discussion
Department of Health: Presentation from Mary O’Hagan, Executive Director Lived Experience and Fiona Patterson, Director Carer, Lived Experience Branch
Alfred Health: Open Dialogue and a family-based approach to eating disorders.
