Description
The aim of the webinar is to understand the difficulties in the assessment of mental health issues in people with intellectual disability and to think about how these can be addressed. Participants will review definitions of intellectual disability and consider the prevalence of mental disorders in this group. They will also learn how mental illness can present in this population and consider what adjustments in practice may need to be made.Format: The Webinars will consist of a 45 minute lecture followed by a 15 minute question and answer session. A chat function will also be available.
Delivery: The webinars will be delivered using the ZOOM platform. Registered participants will be sent a link by email to be able to join the session and will require access to a computer with audio-visual capacity.
The Webinars are designed for clinical staff working in Victorian Specialist Mental Health services.
Eligibility criteria
Victorian Specialist Mental Health services staff.
