Dr Ida Kaplan will outline the impact of persecution and human rights violations on children, young people, and families and the implications for interventions which enable trauma recovery.

This event will cover:

  • • An assessment framework, including the identification of risk and protective factors
  • • Key considerations such as intergenerational trauma, cultural issues, the integrity of the family, and the impact of immigrati
  • • An overview of the approaches suited to working therapeutically with children and young people within family systems.
  • • Building a recovery environment for children and young people to promote trauma recovery.
