Eligibility criteria

According to the National Ageing Research Institute more than 50 percent of our aged care residents have depression or anxiety, or both of these conditions. Often these residents (just under 50 percent) enter our aged care facilities with these pre-existing conditions.

Aged care workers, including nurses and personal care workers require the skills and knowledge to assess and manage their clients’ mental health problems, whether in the community or in our aged care facilities. These skills are critical to ensure best health outcomes for our ageing population.

This course is suitable for registered nurses, enrolled nurses and personal care workers.

Please note: This course is currently scheduled to be delivered face to face at ANMF Victorian Branch, 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Face to face delivery is subject to change dependent on the COVID-safe conditions and restrictions in place on the course delivery date.
