Become trauma informed and feel confident to respond to and support people who have experienced trauma.
At completion of this training, learners should be able to:
• Understand the relationship between recovery-oriented practice and trauma informed care
• Understand the principles of trauma informed care and apply them to the workplace
• Understand the stress response in the body and the brain
• Understand responses to trauma and the impact on the individual, family and community.
• Understand the importance of safety.
• Develop trauma informed relationships that foster support and healing
