Description

Professor Jennifer McIntosh, an infant mental health specialist and co-developer of MERTIL, will present an introduction to the MERTIL program in a live webinar.
MERTIL is a self-paced, online course for Early Childhood and Family Workforces, based on current Attachment Theory, Neurodevelopmental Science and Trauma Informed Practice. Developed by a team of local/international experts and emanating from the Bowlby/Ainsworth paradigm, the course emphasises observation and recognition of traumatised states within parent-child dyads as well as early support for repair, through frontline engagement, resonance with both parent and infant, strengths-based conversations and well targeted practical responses in the identification of and response to early relational trauma.

This event will cover:

  • Explain the synthesis and development of the MERTIL course
  • Explain the applicability of MERTIL for those working with families with young children experiencing relational trauma
  • Outline the MERTIL course and workshop components and key learning objectives
