Description

This session will introduce participants to family-based ways for responding to suicide risk. It will offer a range of perspectives including findings from research, descriptions of practice models and the experiences of the person at risk of suicide, their family members and practitioners. We will explore the advantages of a relational approach to a major public health issue.

This event will cover:

  • An overview of the research literature in relation to family-based practices for dealing with suicide risk
  • Knowledge of a range of perspectives including research, practitioner, person at risk and family

The Family Sensitive Practice forums are open to mental health and community-based workers, carers, families and service users.
