Description
This course is great if you:• Are curious about different perspectives on mental health and wellbeing
• Sometimes feel challenged by other people’s views on mental health
• Want to broaden your ideas of mental health and wellbeing
This course is mini-version of our other course, In Someone Else’s Shoes.
In this course, we’re going to look at how mental health ideas have changed over time. We’ll also explore what shapes our views on mental health and wellbeing.
We think there is value in being open to different ways of interpreting people’s experiences. So, this course is about drawing on different language and ideas to develop your own understanding of mental health and wellbeing.
This event will cover:
- recognise that there are different ways of understanding mental health and wellbeing
- recognise the importance of choice and preference in regards to language when talking about mental health and wellbeing
- explore the development of one perspective and the change in that perspective over time
- recognise the benefits and challenges of developing new understandings by taking elements from different frameworks
