This online workshop will look at attachment theory, and current knowledge about attachment in children and youth with autism spectrum disorders. Assessment and treatment using attachment models will be addressed as well as an overview of the Parent Development Interview, a research tool that assesses parental reflective function.

This event will cover:

  • What is attachment?
  • Why is it important?
  • What is the difference between an attacWhat do we know about autism spectrum disorder andhment disorder and insecure attachment?
  • How can we support parent-child attachment when a child has ASD?

Eligibility criteria

This training is designed for Mental Health Clinicians and other professionals such as psychologists, social workers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, paediatricians, psychiatrists and registrars, working with children and young people with ASD.
