Providing an understanding of the current research, including limitations
Describing practical implications for working with clients who use Methamphetamines.
Presenters
Dr Catherine Cox is a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist at Turning Point with extensive experience in paediatric and adult neuropsychology fields, including adult and paediatric neuro-rehabilitation and neurology, paediatric oncology and aged care. She approaches her clinical work with a strong client and family focus. She has been involved in a range of research projects over her career including international multi-centre drug trials, and facilitating student research. Catherine has presented her clinical and research work at both national and international conferences.
Dr Vanessa Petersen is a Clinical Neuropsychologist from Turning Point, where she assesses the effects of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) use on cognition and the brain. Vanessa has completed a doctoral thesis examining the effects of substance use on sleep and cognition; and an honours thesis examining ecstasy neurotoxicity. She has presented her work at national and international conferences. Vanessa also has experience in a tertiary mental health setting, specialising in the diagnosis of young people who have complex developmental, psychiatric and substance use comorbidities.
