The rise of Novel Benzodiazepines (Benzos) pose a significant public health risk because Novel Benzos are unregulated, unpredictable and potentially more potent than prescription benzos. Sometimes Novel benzos are sold as Xanax but they often contain other drugs. This one - hour learning session will share some information regarding trends in non- prescribed use of Xanax. This session will also discuss characteristics of Xanax, complexities related to non-prescribed use of Xanax and how to manage risks within a harm reduction framework.
