Description

Blended Course inc. self paced lectures and readings plus a half day interactive workshop. Working therapeutically with people seeking asylum, including those living in the community on bridging visas, in held detention and community detention, as they wait for their claim to be determined.

This event will cover:

  • Historical and current legal and policy frameworks
  • Roles practitioners engage in, including therapeutic work and interventions, advocacy an
  • How pre-arrival traumatic histories and the asylum-seeking process interact and impact individuals and families
  • What represents good practice in work with people seeking asylum
  • Impacts of this work, ways to sustain ourselves, and effective practice
