Description
The Transtheoretical (TTM) model has been meaningfully applied to men’s behaviour change program design as a tool to address how men using family violence understand the stages of change process. The stages of change model explore the contexts from precontemplation, through to goal setting and goal management within a realistic framework of accountability by addressing self-responsibility for change. Whilst the use of this framework is evolving in the men’s behaviour change space, the TTM model is helpful for practitioners to measure readiness for engagement from intake and assessment and through the process of a men’s behaviour change program. The training examines the important progression points as well as the barriers to men’s progress through the behaviour change journey. Practitioners will be provided with a foundational tool that is highly relevant across a range of professional interactions (men’s case management, child protection interventions, individual counselling and groupwork) with men using family violence.Trainers
