Description

This interactive workshop will examine Aboriginal ways of being, communication and engagement styles. Topics covered include the Strong Spirit Model, cultural identity, spiritual experiences, inter-generational and complex trauma, and learning how to support people in their healing journeys from a culturally appropriate framework.
The workshop also provides information, resources and strategies for working with Aboriginal people within a southern Australian context. Participants will explore ways of doing things "differently” from an organisational position that is culturally inclusive and appropriate. The aim is to increase engagement and communication between non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal people and their communities. A workbook and other resources are provided to each participant.
