Description
In recent years, along with the development of the Consumer Movement and Recovery Model, there has been a growing acknowledgement of the role of trauma in the lives of those who experience mental health problems. This has encompassed research into neurobiology and psychological consequences of trauma, as well as a responsiveness to implement care differently from a systems perspective. This training provides participants with an introductory to what is trauma informed care, explains the theoretical basis of this approach, and explores its application into practice.
