This Blended course will provide practitioners with a trauma-informed understanding of psychosocial and cognitive development and challenges for people from refugee backgrounds. Includes self-paced online learning via Moodle, and 2 follow up half day interactive workshops via Zoom

This event will cover:

  • Major theories of psychosocial and cognitive development;
  • Trauma-informed understanding of the major stages of development
  • The impact on development of adverse experiences eg torture, trauma, disruptions to attachment, forced migration
  • Working with survivors of trauma to support recovery from a developmental perspective

Practitioners including psychologists, social workers, counsellors, psychotherapists, youth workers, education and early years workers, etc who are working with survivors of trauma from refugee backgrounds
