This topic looks at the role of GPs and other health professionals in a changing landscape of primary mental health care in Australia. The perspective of the GP is presented, along with the importance of, and barriers to collaborative relationships between mental health and primary care practitioners. Models of effective transition and shared care are discussed along with best-practice example of programs which deliver good primary care outcomes for consumers and carers.
