This document maps the 2nd edition of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards with the National Standards for Mental Health Services (NSMHS). The purpose of the document is to demonstrate to mental health stakeholders the extent of alignment between the two sets of standards.

The Commission's multi-volume report canvasses the many views heard by the Commission during its consultation processes and covers a broad range of topics. It then lists and details the Commission's 227 recommendations.

Victoria's 10-year mental health plan sets an ambitious, long-term vision for mental health and wellbeing. It will guide investment and drive better outcomes for Victorians.

These standards outline capabilities that all mental health professionals should achieve in their work. They are intended to complement discipline-specific practice standards or competencies of the professions of nursing, occupational therapy, psychiatry, psychology and social work.

The roadmap outlines the reform directions governments will take over the 10-year period 2012-2022 and re-commits the Australian Government and states and territories to working together towards real improvements in the lives of people with mental illness, their families, carers and communities.
