I have been a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse for 33 years, working in a range of settings in public mental health and also recently within the private sector.
I strive to build positive relationships with consumers, their families, community members and other mental health professionals, in order to improve the mental wellbeing of consumers and contribute to their recovery from mental illness.
I am passionate about the safety of all who use, visit and work within our services. I have a keen interest in early recognition of deteriorating clients and working towards the elimination of restrictive practices within our mental health settings in Victoria.
In 2018 I was awarded the Health and Safety Rep of the year at Barwon Health for improving safety on the acute psychiatric inpatient unit. I am a strong advocate for vulnerable clients, people from diverse backgrounds and their families.
I believe strongly in the role of the Enrolled Nurse in mental health and encourage and recognise the value of this workforce and their contribution to the mental health sector.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, music and walking in nature.
