Description

This one day workshop will focus on understanding behaviours of concern, building skills and developing strategies to effectively respond to behaviours of concern in mental health context. This workshop is suitable for frontline workers and other staff who have direct contact with people who have mental health concerns in a range of contexts.

This event will cover:

  • Understand the range of conditions which may cause behaviours of concern.
  • Identify early warning signs and how to de-escalate behaviours of concern
  • Identify how your own attitudes, behaviours and communication styles can contribute to behaviours of concern.
  • Understand the importance of self-care and debriefing when working with people displaying behaviours of concern.
  • Provide workers with the opportunity to engage in skills practice and to learn from other practitioners.
