I began mental health nursing in 2021 in Geelong’s public mental health service. Previous to mental health I worked in age care for the first 2 years of my nursing career, during the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreaks in Melbourne. Despite the challenges of working in age care during lockdown it created my passion for patient advocacy and promoting mental health, during long periods of isolation for many.
Since starting in mental health, I recognised that enrolled nurses are an important part of mental health services in Victoria. I’m passionate about having accessible resources to support enrolled nurses through their transition from other specialties or as they begin their careers in nursing.
I’m excited to be able to support Enrolled Nurses through my work at CMHL.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, hiking and trail run.
