Description
This on-line module and face-to-screen (F2S) session interactive and practical professional development training assists clinicians to understand the possibility that their clients who experience dual diagnosis may have experiences of childhood and/or other past or current trauma(s), which could be affecting their health, wellbeing, daily interactions and functioning.This training is introductory and appropriate to a wide range of work roles. It covers basic clinical treatment and puts trauma in a context that provides clinicians with a trauma-informed focus to better understand challenging emotions and human behaviour that clients with a dual diagnosis may present with.
This event will cover:
- Develop understanding of the types, prevalence, neurobiology and impacts of trauma
- Use trauma-informed approaches to reframe challenging emotions and behaviours as adaptive responses to trauma
- Use case study examples to apply trauma-inform approaches to your work/care and assist with developing trauma-informed recovery
