Description

Working in public mental health, many of us have to step up formally and often informally to guide, teach and educate or workforce. With a rapidly increasing workforce and more entry level positions there is now even more expectation for staff to be able to deliver training and education. Very few in the sector have formal teaching qualifications. The CMHL recognises this and wants to offer support to those staff; clinical and non-clinical from all disciplines, who support staff development.

CMHL have developed a one day forum for anyone who provides education in the sector. Topics will include effective planning, facilitation of training, co-design practices, and emerging theories in education delivery.

Come along to meet with the other teachers and mentors of the workforce, with time to connect and replenish along the way.

Eligibility criteria

This forum is for anyone who currently offers any sort of workforce development in the public mental health sector and people who are working towards this. All clinical and non-clinical disciplines are welcome, including new and emerging educators, experienced educators and those providing training and support to others without an official educator title.

This conference is a free event designed for members of the public mental health workforce in Victoria, (such as staff employed at Area Mental Health Services or Forensicare). For example, a social worker working in mental health at Austin Health.
Staff from MHCSSs, ACCHOs, Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) or other mental health and community partner organisations may also attend, and this event includes community health and social service organisations.
If it is not clear that you are part of the intended audience, we will need some further information about you, your role and how it is connected to the Victorian public mental health sector prior to the event.
