Through critical reflection and case study exercises, this training explores how an integrated and intentional advocacy response can contribute to positive therapeutic outcomes for individuals and families from refugee backgrounds

This event will cover:

  • Key definitions, principles, and rationales, for advocacy and counselling interventions
  • Identifying active advocacy through the assessment and formulation or case-plan process
  • Intentionally integrating advocacy as part of a therapeutic intervention
  • Applying reflective skills to monitor engagement, reformulate interventions, and adapt therapeutic advocacy over time
