Description

NOTE: Participants must complete an e-learning package prior to attending the interactive session. The e-learning takes approx 60 minutes and is titled Introduction to LGBTIQ inclusive practice. A link to the training will be sent to registrants.
The purpose of this workshop is to increase the confidence and ability of individuals and groups of professionals in collaborating to improve outcomes for LGBTIQ colleagues and clients through practically applying and synthesising the knowledge and skills they have gained from the foundational course.
This event will:
Create individual strategies to contribute to the exclusivity of their workplace for the benefit of LGBTIQ staff members
Create individual strategies to cultivate their own inclusive work practice in order to address the unique barriers that impact LGBTIQ clients equitably accessing their service.
Establish collective and holistic plans to sustainably improve outcomes for staff and clients by collaborating on LGBTIQ inclusion and cultural safety across all areas of their organisation.

Eligibility criteria

This is a free event designed for members of the public clinical mental health workforce in Victoria, (staff employed at Area Mental Health Services, Forensicare or mental health staff from RCH). For example, a social worker working in mental health at Austin Health. Staff from MHCSSs, ACCHOs, AOD or other partner organisations may also attend. Please note, if you do register for this event and it is not clear you are part of the intended audience, your registration will be confirmed two weeks prior to the event start date, or earlier.
