Are you distressed by hearing voices or do you support someone who is?
The Hearing Voices Approach is the peer-led recovery model for people who hear voices, see and sense things around them that others do not. This training aims to provide tools to assist people to the alleviate distress associated with voices and work towards a meaningful life.
Many people hear voices and find them helpful, sacred or just a normal part of life. Some people find voices con-fusing or frightening and seek help to cope. These people are commonly diagnosed with schizophrenia or an-other mental illness.
This training is for voice-hearers, supporters of voice-hearers and mental health professionals to facilitate and understand new ways of working with voices.
This course is the perfect starting place if you are new to the Hearing Voices Approach.
By the end of the 2 days you will have a solid understanding of the Hearing Voices Approach and how to apply it in practical settings.
These skills are transferable either for yourself, in your work as a mental health professional or in your family/home environment.

  • An understanding of the experience of hearing voices & recovery
  • Self-care and tools for voice-hearers
  • A new approach to working with individuals on their voices
  • Changing your own relationship with voices and alleviating distress of hearing voices
