Description

Elder abuse, ‘the silent epidemic’, is a serious public health issue worldwide.
It happens in private homes, hospitals and in nursing homes, and is seldom reported. Health professionals and others working in these contexts receive little, if any, education on the topic.
This session will empower nurses to understand the latest facts, recognise elder abuse, know how best to respond, and know how to help prevent elder abuse. ‘Real life’ case studies will be discussed.
