Description

People with an Intellectual Disability are at increased risk of personality disorder and when a person has both disorders this can lead to a significant increase in impairment and behaviour disturbance. The workshop is an introduction to how personality disorder may present in people with intellectual disability, and will address some of the specific issues for this population around assessment and management, with an emphasis on borderline personality disorder.

All VDDS workshops employ a variety of learning strategies including lectures, exercises and discussions based on case examples and attendees will be expected to actively contribute and participate.
