Description

The purpose of the ASIST program is to enhance community mental health worker’s and caregiver’s comfort, confidence and competence in helping a person at imminent risk of suicide.

This event will cover:

  • Suicide first aid – helping a person at imminent risk to stay safe and seek further help.
  • Reflect on own attitudes and beliefs about suicide and how these effect your intervention role
  • How to notice invitations for help and ask directly about suicide.
  • An intervention framework
  • Community resources likely to promote life links and continuity of care.
