Description
The purpose of the ASIST program is to enhance community mental health worker’s and caregiver’s comfort, confidence and competence in helping a person at imminent risk of suicide.This event will cover:
- Suicide first aid – helping a person at imminent risk to stay safe and seek further help.
- Reflect on own attitudes and beliefs about suicide and how these effect your intervention role
- How to notice invitations for help and ask directly about suicide.
- An intervention framework
- Community resources likely to promote life links and continuity of care.
